— Police said Monday that they have identified human remains found last month in some Raleigh woods.

The remains of Allen Leroy Sather, 61, were found Sept. 6 near a lightly used path off Hodges Street and Atlantic Avenue, police said.

There were no indications of foul play, police said, adding that it appears Sather died of natural causes.

To let everyone know this man was my cousin. He had been homeless for awhile and we had tried to locate him when his sister passed away with no luck.

At that age, it possible that no report or that any family members reported anything. Even if someone saw him there, in to day world, it possible no one reported it.

Perhaps he was homeless...? Jus sayinn...?

"And he was reported missing when? Where's the rest of the story WRAL?"

Perhaps he was never reported missing. There are lost of bodies that are recovered of persons that were never reported missing by family or friends. An unfortunate human being dies alone on a path in the woods. There's your story. Decency requires a law enforcement agency and news outlets to report as little as possible when a person dies of natural causes because, quite frankly, it's none of the public's business. The only reason this was posted is because they reported that remains had been found back in September.
