Police ID man shot in Fayetteville apartment

— Fayetteville police have released the name of a man killed Monday afternoon and a description of a possible suspect.

Jacalvin Devaughn Battle, 25, was shot inside an apartment in the 50 block of Cambridge Arms and ran out to a wooded area behind the apartment complex, where he died.

Police described the possible suspect as a light-skinned black man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighing 160 pounds. He had dreadlocks and was wearing a white T-shirt and black shorts.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Fayetteville police detectives at 910-391-2529 or Crime Stoppers at 910-483-8477. Crime Stoppers pays cash rewards for anonymous tips that solve crimes.

    Looks like it will never end. Just getting worse. What is the solution to stop these crimes ? Most young folks don't want to work, just deal drugs and be gang members, like that is so cool. Need a solution.
