CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Authorities say a woman in North Carolina who ran over a bicyclist then drove off was arrested two minutes later when someone called 911 about a driver with a damaged windshield and flat tire.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said in a news release officers found 29-year-old Gregory Mobley injured on a street about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from downtown Charlotte around 12:50 a.m. Friday.
Authorities say two minutes later, officers got a call that a Toyota Camry a short distance away was damaged and matched the damage on 23-year-old Tamara Juarez's car to the struck cyclist.
Investigators say Mobley died at the hospital Friday afternoon.
Juarez was charged with driving while impaired, felony hit and run, felony death by motor vehicle and other charges.
It wasn't known if Juarez had a lawyer.
