Police file juvenile petitions in vandalism case

CARY, N.C. — Cary police on Friday announced juvenile petitions of ethnic intimidation and damage to property against two boys accused of spray-painting racist comments and symbols on several businesses.
The boys, ages 12 and 13, allegedly painted racially-charged graffiti on businesses along Cary Towne Boulevard during the early morning hours of July 29.
A van belonging to El Rey Del Taco Taqueria was covered in swastika symbols, as well as the words "war," "skins" and "skin heads."
Other markings attacked blacks, Asians, Jews and homosexuals.
Police are still investigating the crimes and asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 919-226-2746. Tipsters may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,500.
