ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A 42-year-old man kidnapped his ex-girlfriend at gunpoint from a nightclub Sunday night, Rocky Mount police said.

Police said that Gerald Lee Outlaw pulled a gun on Felicia Barkley, 35, inside Club Seven, 691 S. Wesleyan Blvd. She complied with Outlaw's orders to go outside and get into his truck.

Outlaw then assaulted Barkley inside the vehicle, police said. He drove to her residence in Tarboro, pushed her out of the truck and drove away.

Barkley called 911, and Tarboro police arrested Outlaw a short time later, police said.

Tarboro police charged him with carrying a concealed weapon, driving while impaired and driving with an open container of alcohol. Rocky Mount police charged him with kidnapping, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by pointing a gun, damage to personal property and communicating threats.

Outlaw was being held in the Nash County Jail Monday under a $50,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was set for Tuesday.

Outlaw has 1993 convictions for carrying a concealed weapon, drug possession and driving with a revoked license, according to state Department of Correction records.
