Alfredo Contreras-Palacio

— A Durham man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly tried to drag a girl into his home, police said Wednesday.

A girl told police that she was playing outside at about 2:15 p.m. when a man approached her and offered her money to go into his home. When she refused, he grabbed her by the wrist and shoulder and started to drag her away, she told police.

Two other juveniles in the area ran after the man and stomped on his feet and pulled the girl to safety, police said.

Alfredo Contreras-Palacio, 28, is charged with second-degree kidnapping and taking indecent liberties with a child. He was being held in Durham County jail under a $500,000 bond.
