Posted August 11, 2008

— Police who investigated a fight in Durham early Sunday morning say the brawl was not gang-related.

Police got a call about the fight at the intersection of Corcoran and Main streets around 2 a.m., and it took them 25 minutes to break it up. About 100 people, at maximum, were involved, police said.

Durham doesn't have a gang problem, just ask anybody in the mayor's office. Thoese kids were just out playing football in the street and got a little carried away......right

    News Report:

"There was a fight in downtown Corcoran and Main Steets where a group of about 100 men, women, and children fighting. The groups known as the Jets and Sharks had a disagreement over the relationship between a boy named Tony and a gal named Maria. The police took 30 minutes to break up the fight. Since it was determined to not be gang related, misdemeanor charges of trespassing where given to 25 of the rough hoodlums and they were released into the care of their older siblings. More to report later as the news comes in."

I think someone is trying to kid someone else. How else would something like that happen? I also understand that some of the incidents in Raleigh are gang related but not being reported as such.

Someone even blamed the MEDIA!! Hard to believe!

I don't believe it. The intersection of Corcoran and Main is right down town. Normally there is hardly anyone in downtown much after 5:30 pm but yet over 100 people were involved? Not gang related, ya right...

    Waiting on the full story.

100 people, duking it out for at least 25 minutes. No weapons, but no one really injured either.

Doesn't sound like much of a fight.
