DUDLEY, N.C. — A Dudley woman was charged Tuesday with fabricating a story that her child had been snatched from a Goldsboro park, police said.

Tahelia James, 21, of Pecan Road, was charged with filing a false police report.

James called Goldsboro police at about 9:20 p.m. Monday to report that her 1-year-old son had been abducted from Herman Park by someone she knew. An investigation, which was confirmed by surveillance video, showed that the incident had been made up, police said.
