Police: Driver crashed into Durham store to steal items

Posted July 25, 2008

— A driver crashed a minivan into a Durham Rent-a-Center early Friday, intending to steal items from the store, police said.

The driver ran away, and police were looking for the person.

Authorities later removed the minivan from the store, which is on North Duke Street. Broken glass covered the ground, and a wall was busted out at the store.

Clearly, a criminal mastermind at work here... and it could well be that he fled the scene, stole another minivan, "busted out a[nother] wall" at WRAL, found an unattended workstation, sat down at it and wrote this article.

    The van was stolen

Poorly written article, par for the course. WRAL needs to hire someone who knows standard English so as to avoid such gems as "and a wall was busted out at the store."

It wasn't mentioned, but I assume the van was stolen.

I'm waiting for the day someone breaks into my house and tries to steel my flat screen TV. They will be electrocuted.
