Clayton, N.C. — Clayton authorities are investigating a homicide on Saturday after a man was shot to death inside his home.
Officers responded to 68 Herndon Ct. around 2 a.m., police said. When they arrived, officers found the body of 25-year-old Garrett Howard Bridges. Police believe the victim and the suspect knew each other.
“I was just awoken by the police knocking on my door asking me “did I see anything or hear anything,” and then that’s when I was informed of what happened,” said neighbor Jonathan Morales.
Aquilla King, who recently moved to the neighborhood, said the shooting is very concerning after relocating to the area.
“You move out here to a neighborhood like this and you’re just thinking to yourself, “OK, it’s a nice neighborhood,” and then it’s [the shooting] like two doors down,” she said.
Authorities did not release information about the suspect.
