Police: Child found unharmed near slain Durham woman
Police said Thursday that a young boy was found unharmed inside a Durham apartment where his mother was found slain early Wednesday.

Crystal Gigliotti, 21, was found dead in a pool of blood in an apartment in the Stonewood Apartment Homes complex, at 4524 Newby Drive, by her mother.
Gigliotti's mother called 911 to report the death and frantically told the dispatcher that she thought her grandson might also be in the apartment but that she was afraid to search for him.
Officers found the 3-year-old boy in the apartment, and he wasn't injured, said Kammie Michael, spokeswoman for the Durham Police Department.
Police aren't disclosing how Gigliotti died, Michael said, but investigators are handling the case as a homicide and were following several leads.
