Police: Cary mom leaves baby in car while shopping

Cary, N.C. — A Cary mother was charged Thursday after police say she left her 1-year-old son in a van while she shopped at Walmart on Kildaire Farm Road.

Daniela Stoyanov, 37, faces one count of misdemeanor child abuse.

Police say Stoyanov left the child alone in the van for more than 30 minutes. Someone walking through the parking lot saw the boy and called police.

Viking416: I am sure you are joking. Child asleep in car is no excuse for leaving them alone. I give the person who called the cops a lot of credit. Many folks would not care to get involved

I left my nephew in my car to run in a convenience store once but was only gone 5 minutes & looked out window a few times. That was over 15 years ago.

pedsRN December 14, 2012 12:30 p.m. ____________________________________________________________ ___ A lady told me that story too, only her kid knock the car into gear and it rolled toward the gas pumps, only thing stopped it was the graud they have at end of pumps, if not it could of been really bad.
