rbrebrook-sounds like you are on to something there. Most time, it's our fault when we see bears-primarily destruction of their habitat-same with other wild animals and reptiles(snakes). If they are happy, they'll stay in their home area. Destroy their home, and they will wonder around until they find a new home.

They're having the same problem in near swamp areas of Florida-only with very deadly reptiles like eastern-diamondback rattlesnakes(native-and yes-they can kill you), pythons(non-native), boas(non-native), and yes-cotton mouth water moccasins(native). Oh-and gators as well.

Destruction of animal habitats stir up all kinds of issues!!
    Don't unless you have to!!

Continue killing the forest and people will see more animals in the city. When you destroy the animals home, where do you think they will go and live?

Continue having groups like PETA and other crazy liberals and people will continue to see animals in the city.

I live about a mile or so down the road from this sighting in a subdivison. About two years ago, I stood on my patio at 2am as a black bear walked the fence line of my back yard. A day later he was seen across the road,in the woods. Now those woods have recently been clear cut for new houses. Likely, it's the same bear who has been displaced:(

I saw a fox in my backyard two evenings ago, around dusk. There's a small patch of woods behind my apartment that is situated between me and another complex. That's where he came out of. There have been so many stories in recent times about foxes attacking people in this area. Should I be concerned? Maybe he's just passing thru?

As for the bear...what will happen if it comes back? Will they shoot it?
