Police ask for help in Fayetteville shooting investigation

— Fayetteville police released surveillance images of a car they think was driven by the suspect in a shooting Saturday at the Ya-Ya Food Mart on Murchison Road.

The car, a 2009 Ford Focus, silver or gray in color, was seen leaving the location where two men were shot.

Police said the owner of Ya-Ya Food Mart, Waheed Abdo Abdulla, 30, of 2770 Graham Road, went outside to break up a disturbance around 1 a.m., and gunfire erupted.

When police arrived, they found Abdulla's body lying on the floor inside the business and a second man, Demetrius Deshawn Johnson, 20, of 545 Hilliard Drive, dead in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in front of the business.
