RALEIGH, N.C. — Authorities arrested a man involved in a hit-and-run Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a Walmart on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh.

Officials said they detained Devin Robert Singleton-Young around 4 p.m. at a traffic stop near the intersection of Millbrook and Green roads.

Singleton-Young, 23, was charged with two counts of felony hit-and-run, misdemeanor hit-and-run, careless-and-reckless driving, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated. He is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center.

Officials said Singleton-Young hit a man and a woman—Abram Servance, 80, and Mary Pharr, 60—around 4:30 p.m. Both victims were taken to WakeMed in Raleigh.

"He made no attempt to stop," said witness Ricky Wall. "Knocked her up in the air into a fence. And then on the way out he ran into an older gentleman."

No further information has been released. Authorities said the investigation is ongoing.
