Raleigh, N.C. — Raleigh police have arrested a man who was caught on surveillance video allegedly hitting and kicking a woman before forcing her into a gas station bathroom early Tuesday morning.
Gregory Leon Bolden, 29, was charged Thursday with one count of assault in connection with the case and was being held without bond Thursday afternoon at the Wake County Detention Center.
Police responded to the Sheetz convenience store, at 5200 New Bern Ave., around 12:15 a.m. Tuesday after someone called 911 reporting a man beating a screaming woman inside a locked bathroom.
The two were gone, however, when officers arrived.
Investigators haven't said how Bolden and the woman might know each other but said they arrived at the store together.
Bolden, however, left on foot wearing the woman's white shirt, police said, and the woman, who had obvious injuries, drove away in the car.
