Wilson police have released more details about a man accused of killing his estranged wife.

WILSON, N.C. — Wilson police have released more details about a man accused of killing his estranged wife.

According to authorities, police said Marcos Rubio, 40, arrived unexpectedly Friday at the Gay Street apartment of his estranged wife, Maria Micaela DeLeon-Rubio, 33.

Police said Marcos Rudio and his wife argued about their relationship. As the argument escalated, Marcos Rudio stabbed his wife numerous times and later tried to kill himself, authorities said.

Marcos Rubio has been charged with first-degree murder and burglary after being released from the hospital. He is at the Wilson County Detention Center without bond.
