HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — An Angier man was being held at the Wake County jail Thursday on charges he killed a goat in an attempt to steal the animal.

According to the warrant for his arrest, Sidney Lewis Plummer, 49, of 82 Sue Drive, damaged the barbed-wire fence at a Holly Springs property and took a Nubian goat valued at $250. In the process, he hit the goat on the head, breaking its horn and killing it, the warrants say.
