Police: 38-year-old Apex woman killed when gun accidentally discharges

Apex police said a 38-year-old woman sustained a severe injury to her abdomen after the weapon discharged at a home in the 2000 block of Walden Glade Run.

The woman, who was not identified pending notification of next of kin, was taken to an area hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.

Apex police said officers are speaking with witnesses to determine the series of events leading up to the woman’s death and rule out any foul play.
