Police: 2 arrested for scamming Hurricane Matthew victims in Fayetteville

Fayetteville, N.C. — Officials with the Fayetteville Police Department have charged two men for taking advantage of Hurricane Matthew victims needing home repairs.
The suspects have been identified as David Alan Andrews, 55, and Christopher Paul Beard, 41.
Andrews was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and failure to work after being paid. Andrews was the owner of a local construction business during the times that the offenses were committed.
Beard was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and failure to work after being paid. He was released on bond but is wanted by police again for a probation violation.
