Pogo Cafe at Marbles closes

The restaurant next to Marbles Kids' Museum's IMAX theater is closed.

Pogo Cafe closed this month, but Marbles plans to reopen a new restaurant in the same space and with a fresh new menu around Sept. 17. The downtown Raleigh children's museum will operate the new eatery. Farmers Table Restaurant Group had operated Pogo Cafe,

Between now and mid-September, the space will undergo some small structural changes, including a deep clean, new equipment and a minor face lift. But Katy Hipp Burgwyn of Marbles tells me that the museum has plans for much bigger changes to both the space and the menu, including more concession offerings, in early 2017. (I've put my vote in for coffee drinks that I can take into the theater!).

The new restaurant will be the third one at Marbles. Roly Poly was at Marbles from 2008 to 2013. Pogo opened at Marbles in summer 2013.
