The Poe Center for Health Education near downtown Raleigh has a new puberty program designed for fathers and sons.

Guy Talk is designed to equip boys with accurate age-appropriate information to encourage healthy growth and development, according to the description. Workshop topics include the changes which happen during puberty, the reproductive systems, proper nutrition and hygiene and online safety.

The goal is to foster open father-son communication. Hands-on activities and Poe's 3D theater exhibits make it fun and interactive. It's best for boys in fifth to eighth grades.

The workshop is planned 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 11. Registration is $25 for each father and son pair and $10 for each additional son. To register, contact Robin Pittman at r.pittman@poehealth.org or 919-231-4006 ext. 322.

The Poe Center also hosts a popular Girl Talk program for moms and daughters.
