Playground Review: Oakwood Park in Durham

Posted February 6, 2014

Oakwood Park near downtown Durham got a major overhaul in 2013. The community, including local kids, was behind the design.

This is a small park at the corner of Holloway Street and Oakwood Avenue. You'll find a pretend bulldozer with a small slide for the younger kids. The larger play set boasts two slides, a variety of ways to climb and a balance beam with pieces that are designed to wobble a bit. Oakwood Park, Durham Playground Review: Oakwood Park

For a closer look, watch the video. Parking is along the street. The park has a small picnic shelter with tables with checkerboards on them. There is no bathroom.

Go Ask Mom features places to take kids every Friday. For more, check our posts on park and playground reviews and Triangle family destinations.
