Playground Review: Centennial Park in Garner

Posted — UpdatedThis is a smaller park with athletic fields, a .36 mile walking trail, a picnic shelter and a playground. It was the playground that caught my eye as I zoomed past it on Benson Road. So on my way back from Ken's, I stopped by the park to shoot this quick video.
The park is well maintained with tall hardwood trees right next to the playground. The playground features pretty standard equipment - monkey bars, slides and a bouncy bridge. A great feature: A fence surrounds the two large play pieces so you don't have to worry about your kids escaping.
Outside the fence, you'll find a swing set with both belt and bucket swings. And there's another fence to help keep kids from running onto very busy Benson Road.
There's a nice picnic shelter and bathrooms right next to the playground. And there's that walking trail, which you'll need to walk along to get from the parking lot to the playground.
My favorite part of this park: Those giant hardwood trees right next to the playground - great for games of hide and seek and tag or just sitting under for a picnic.
Find Centennial Park at 1015 New Bethel Church Rd., Garner.
