Pittsboro man charged with indecent liberties

Authorities arrested a 50-year-old Pittsboro man on a charge of taking indecent liberties with a child, then also charged four of his family members for allegedly breaking into the home of the victim.

PITTSBORO, N.C. — Authorities arrested a 50-year-old Pittsboro man on a charge of taking indecent liberties with a child, then also charged four of his family members for allegedly breaking into the home of the victim.

Daniel Gonzalez-Sosa, of 45 Beaumont Lane, was arrested May 28 and charged with taking indecent liberties with a child, kidnapping and assault on a child under 12.

Investigators said four of his family members broke into a home May 29, threatened the residents in retaliation and held them hostage. No one was injured.

  • Erika Haydee Gonzalez, 40, of Sanford, was charged with kidnapping, intimidating a witness, simple assault, breaking and entering and communicating threats. She was jailed under a $80,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 6.
  • Elizabeth Gonzalez-Sosa, 49, of Pittsboro, was charged with intimidating a witness, communicating threats and breaking and entering. She was jailed under a $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 17.
  • Kevin Gonzalez, 20, of Siler City, was charged with kidnapping, intimidating a witness and breaking and entering. He was jailed under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 6.
  • Miguel Gonzalez, 46, of Sanford, was charged with kidnapping, intimidating a witness and breaking and entering. He was jailed under a $75,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 6.

Gonzalez-Sosa was jailed under a $250,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 8.
