GREENVILLE, N.C.WITN reports the Pitt County Animal Shelter is seeking donations after dozens of cats were removed from a home.

“Cats were popping out from underneath beds, couches, closets, bathrooms, pillows,” said John Quick, a Pitt County animal control officer, when describing what he saw.

On Monday, animal control officers were called to a home to help with an eviction. When they arrived, officers determined that there were 30+ cats needing immediate removal from the home.

Police said the cats were well cared for, but the owners were in violation of a city code. Within city limits of Greenville, owners are not allowed to have more than six domestic animals.

If you are interested in fostering, you can call the shelter at 252-902-1725. The shelter provides the food, litter, medical costs, and other supplies needed to help raise them.
