Pinetops woman charged after stabbing in Rocky Mount

A 25-year-old Pinetops woman was charged Wednesday night after Rocky Mount police say she stabbed her boyfriend in the 400 block of Sycamore Street.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. — A 25-year-old Pinetops woman was charged Wednesday night after Rocky Mount police say she stabbed her boyfriend in the 400 block of Sycamore Street. 

Officers responded to a call around 10:15 p.m. and found Franklin Mayo, 45, with a stab wound to his torso. He was transported to Nash General Hospital and then airlifted to Vident Medical Center, police said. He was in serious condition Thursday morning. 

Mayo's girlfriend, Tiffany Moore, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to inflict serious injury or death.

Moore was in the Edgecombe County jail Thursday morning, authorities said. 

No other information was released.
