According to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, an investigation started when Twitter contacted the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about sexually explicit posts. The center then contacted the State Bureau of Investigation, which tracked the IP address of the posts to Cumberland County.

He is charged with three counts of first degree exploitation of a minor, 10 counts of second degree exploitation of a minor, and 10 counts of third degree exploitation of a minor.

Everyone knows the transmission of sexually explicit photos by people under the age of 18yo is illegal . Unless the courts are going to declare teenage stupidity illegal, not much is going to change. A sexual relationship between teenagers in High School is ill advised but should not require lifetime registration as a sex offender, but if it does, BOTH the people involved should be charged and punished.

Seriously though, this is what the law is supposed to protect. Not the other kid from Fayetteville who was charged with sexting his girlfriend.

I sure hope that the "exchanging of videos and photos of adults engaging in sex acts" wasn't part of the charges because if men are gonna get locked up now for looking at regular porn all you ladies out there better start saying goodbye to your husbands, fathers, brothers, uncles, and sons.
