— The pilot of a single-engine plane died when it crashed about a mile south of a small Columbus County town Thursday evening, state troopers said.

I personally worked with him while he worked for Duke University Life Flight, this was a good man...he loved his family, he loved his friends and he loved helping the public of North Carolina by being a nurse/EMT. North Carolina lost a great public servant yesterday! He will be deeply missed by all with-in the nursing/ems field. RIP...God bless your family and I know I'm a better person having known such a good man!
