MORRISVILLE, N.C. — Five pigs that fell out of a truck and got loose on Interstate 40 in Durham County two weeks ago still have not been claimed by an owner, Durham Animal Control Shelter officials said Wednesday.

Police rounded up the pigs, the biggest of which weighed about 60 pounds, and wrangled them into squad cars.

Animal control officers brought the pigs to the Durham Animal Control Shelter, where they are on a 30-day hold. If no one claims by April 27, the pigs will be auctioned off.
