"It doesn’t get much better than today for a baseball game. Not every home opener has such beautiful weather," she said. "We can put away the winter clothes and winter coats for a while."

Monday's high temperatures will climb into the upper 70s, and the Triangle could see its first 80-degree day of 2013 on Tuesday.

The last time the temperature at Raleigh-Durham International Airport reached 80 degrees was more than five months ago, on Oct. 25, 2012.

Wednesday's highs will be even warmer, topping out in the mid-80s. Overnight lows will be mild as well, staying in the 50s to near 60 degrees for much of the week.

"We've had some pollen coming out in the last few days, and we'll see much more this week with the warming highs," meteorologist Mike Moss said. "The pine pollen that gives many people issues during allergy season will be here soon."

The next chance for precipitation arrives Thursday, with the highest probability of rain coming Friday. Temperatures will back off slightly later in the week, topping out near 80 degrees Thursday before dipping back to near 70 by the weekend.
