Pickup hits utility pole; driver injured

Posted April 16, 2010

— State troopers said that alcohol was a factor in a single-vehicle wreck in Garner that injured one man early Friday.

A pickup truck driver lost control while going around a curve on New Bethel Church Road shortly before 2:30 a.m., troopers said. The driver over-corrected, and the pickup spun around. The rear of the truck hit a utility pole, snapping it in half.

The driver suffered minor cuts and scrapes, troopers said. Power crews will replace the broken utility pole.

DWI..Hate it for the driver..you know you should not have been behind the wheel..a reminder to all those that go out and drink..it never hurts to call someone if you had any or a lil too much..or a cab for a ride home..your car will stay there..long as the owner knows..and you will have saved lives..including your own.
