Person of interest sought in Fayetteville shooting

Police investigating the fatal shooting of a Fayetteville man are looking for a person of interest in the case.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Police investigating the fatal shooting of a Fayetteville man are looking for a person of interest in the case.

James Farrior, 28, was killed July 31 near the intersection of Ramsey Street and Rosehill Road. Another man was injured.

Lamont Lyles, 18, is wanted for questioning in the case. Lyles is black, stands about 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds. He has a tattoo that says "RIP Aunt May" on one of his arms and another of praying hands on his chest.

Anyone with information about where Lyles might be should contact the Fayetteville Police Department at 910-433-1856 or Crime Stoppers at 940-483-8477.

Three men have been charged in the case: Samuel Javon McKoy, 22, of Blake Street, Andrew Bentinck, 19, of Tiffany Court, and Stanley Generette, 30, of Walker Street.

Each faces charges of first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
