Before 7:45 a.m., officials responded to Moltonville Road and Turkey Highway, or N.C. Highway 24. There were reports of a car fire, and one person died.

A spokesperson from the Turkey Volunteer Fire Department said it was the third fatal crash he's responded to this week.
