Pepper spray released into N. Portland hotel, three injured

HazMat crews were called to a hotel in North Portland Monday after they received reports of an irritant being released into the air.

PORTLAND, OR — HazMat crews were called to a hotel in North Portland Monday after they received reports of an irritant being released into the air.

Portland Fire & Rescue crews responded to the Courtyard Marriott in the 1200 block of North Anchor Way just after 7 a.m.

Witnesses said some sort of substance was released into the air. Crews later said the irritant was pepper spray.

Firefighters said three people were treated for injuries at the scene.
