Pentagon ready to help with Santa's flight

Posted December 19, 2014

Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby said NORAD is ready to track Santa Claus on his journey delivering gifts next week. Speaking to reporters, a tongue-in-cheek Kirby detailed the preparations on land, sea and air.

"In the cyber domain, they tell me their anti-Grinch firewall is up and monitoring for threats," he said.

"In the land domain, they tell me they verified load-bearing capacity for all rooftops that the reindeer will land on. In the maritime domain, they say that Aegis radars are calibrated to track Santa and ships are standing by to conduct any lost gift rescue operations, if necessary.

"In the space domain, our infared satellites are calibrated to see Rudolph's nose."

I'm glad they do this. My youngest one loves to check the tracker with us until he goes to bed.
