Pedestrian suffers minor injuries after being struck on I-40

A pedestrian was taken to WakeMed with minor injuries early Friday after being hit by a car on Interstate 40 near the Rock Quarry Road exit, Raleigh police said.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A pedestrian was taken to WakeMed with minor injuries early Friday after being hit by a car on Interstate 40 near the Rock Quarry Road exit, Raleigh police said. 

According to investigators, the man was hit at about 6:30 a.m. by a car that was merging onto the highway. The man's name was not released, but authorities said he could have been trying to cross I-40 when he was hit. 

It wasn't clear if the driver would face charges.
