— Authorities said a pedestrian was killed on the ramp from Interstate 40 eastbound toward N.C. Highway 70 Wednesday around 4:30 p.m. in Garner.

Police said the driver, Jason Aaron Jones, 36, of Clayton was driving a 2015 Porsche SUV on the exit ramp when he ran off the road and collided with James Allen Lucas, 47.

Officials were detouring vehicles to Jones Sausage Road or Highway 70 bypass as alternate routes to the Clayton area.

Authorities have not released the victim’s identity. Officials said the investigation is ongoing.

Please edit your stories more closely when updating them!!! This really reflects badly on your station.

In the 2nd paragraph, the victim is clearly identified, yet the final sentence in the story (from the original version posted at 7:38 PM on 1/27/16) reads: "Authorities have not released the victim's identity.............."!

Has editing by humans completely disappeared from use today? I am appalled by the very obvious errors I am seeing in all print forms these days!

Sounds like the driver was distracted by something or possibly he got ran off the road from another distracted driver.. Tragic for the family of the deceased.

Umm, if you didn't release the victim's name, and the story has the driver's name and the name of another person..... was there a 3rd person involved, or..... did you release the name of the victim?!

I'm sorry for what happened, but I am glad that the driver stopped. We've had too many hit and run incidents involving pedestrians being seriously injured /killed, and the driver is nowhere to be found. Prayers for the victim and the driver
