Authorities said the SUV struck a pedestrian walking near the fog line in the 4700 block of Hillsborough Road just after 8:30 p.m.

<b>DURHAM, N.C.</b> — Durham police were investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an SUV Wednesday night.

Authorities said the SUV driven by Jack Kruse, 69, of Durham, struck 74-year-old Loyd McMahon of Durham as he walking near the fog line in the 4700 block of Hillsborough Road just after 8:30 p.m.

Hillsborough Road from Sparger Road to Greenfield Court was closed for about two hours as authorities investigated.

No charges have been filed in connection with the incident.
