Pedestrian struck, killed by pickup in Fayetteville
A man died after being struck by a Ford pickup truck in the northbound lanes of Ramsey Street around 10:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.
Posted — UpdatedInvestigators determined that the man was attempting to cross at 4250 Ramsey St., near McArthur Road, and walked into the path of the truck.
Police said that traffic was heavy since attendees at the downtown Dogwood Festival were heading home.
The driver and passenger involved in the wreck stayed at the scene until officers arrived, police said.
The identities of those involved have not been released, pending notification of next-of-kin.
Police said the investigation was ongoing.
