— A woman hit by a vehicle in front of a Raleigh bar on Thursday was wearing dark clothing and not in a crosswalk, according to police.

The report on the incident said the woman was Norma Collins McCaulley, 64, of 801 McCulloch St. in Raleigh.

She was conscious and alert when she was taken to a hospital, authorities said.

The crash happened in front of Boylan Street Brew Pub around 8:40 p.m.

Why use the name of a business rather than a street number? There is a implication the pedestrian might have been coming out of the bar after drinking, which might be untrue.
