Pedestrian struck, killed by car in Johnston County

Multiple witnesses reported that the man was walking in the "middle of the roadway" waving his hands in the air, and that the driver took "evasive maneuvers" to avoid him, a trooper said.

The man was declared dead on arrival shortly after 9 p.m.

There will be no charges related to the incident.

The man did not carry an ID, but officers at the scene reported that the Sheriff's Office had been in contact with him earlier in the evening and were able to identify him as Adaryll TIsdale.
