Pedestrian killed in Wilson

Police said Monday that they are still investigating a weekend crash in Wilson that killed a pedestrian.

WILSON, N.C. — Police said Monday that they are still investigating a weekend crash in Wilson that killed a pedestrian.

James Edwards Jr., 64, of Wilson, was trying to cross Hines Street near the Lodge Street intersection shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Brandon Staggers, 25, of Wilson, police said.

Edwards was taken to Wilson Medical Center, where he died. Staggers wasn't injured.
