Pedestrian killed in Fayetteville wreck

A pedestrian died late Friday after being hit by a car on N.C. Highway 301 in Fayetteville, police said.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A pedestrian died late Friday after being hit by a car on N.C. Highway 301 in Fayetteville, police said.

According to investigators, the unidentified male pedestrian walked in front of a 2011 Dodge Avenger that was traveling south on Eastern Boulevard at about 11:40 p.m. near Adam Street. 

The man's name has not been released.

It's unclear if the driver involved in the incident will be charged, but Fayetteville police said an investigation is ongoing.
