print friendly

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck Monday while crossing Guess Road in Durham, police said.

Kent Hayes, 61, of Durham, was in the far right northbound lane when he was hit by a 1997 Ford Ranger driven by Raymond Carden, 59, of Durham, south of Carver Street at about 6 p.m., police said.

Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said he was wearing dark clothing, and there was no indication of excessive speed or alcohol use by Carden. No charges have been filed, but the case remains under investigation.

The northbound lanes of Guess Road were closed for several hours following the accident.

No...........a crash involves a vehicle and anything. Like a pedestrian, a deer, ect.

What crash? Doesn't a crash usually involve another vehicle or a stationary object?
