Pedestrian killed in Chapel Hill

— Authorities in Orange County say a man was killed Tuesday evening after being hit by a car.

The accident happened around 6:15 p.m. on Bethel Hickory Grove Church Road in Chapel Hill.

The case remained under investigation Tuesday night by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and further details, including the man's identity, weren't immediately available.

    There has been a lot of reported deaths of people getting hit by cars this yr. I think in the last week there has been at least three across multiple counties. Prayers out to his family.

    While technically it is a Chapel Hill address, that road is outside the city limits in Orange County.
