Pedestrian injured in Fayetteville hit-and-run dies

A 34-year-old pedestrian died late Friday after being injured in a hit-and-run crash near Fayetteville's VA Medical Center, police confirmed Saturday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A 34-year-old pedestrian died late Friday after being injured in a hit-and-run crash near Fayetteville's VA Medical Center, police confirmed Saturday.

According to investigators, Stanford Lee Gray, of Fayetteville, was hit at about 9:30 p.m. on Ramsey Street near Sherman Drive. Gray was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he died.

The driver of the car, 43-year-old Franklin Harris, was charged with driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license, authorities said. Harris was not injured in the wreck.
