42-year-old woman dies after being hit by Corvette in Fayetteville

A pedestrian was in critical condition late Tuesday night after being struck by a vehicle in Fayetteville.

— A pedestrian died on Wednesday hours after being struck by a vehicle in Fayetteville.

Police said Michelle Elizabeth Brady, 42, of Candlewood Drive, Fayetteville, was crossing N. Reilly Road near Crown Avenue just before 11 p.m. Tuesday when she was hit by a 1987 Chevrolet Corvette traveling south. Brady was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center where she later died.

The driver of the Corvette was identified as Kelvin Lee Lankford, 48, of Lemont Drive, Fayetteville.

Police are still investigating the crash.
