WTVD was reporting that the guy was helping a delivery truck back out onto 54 when he was struck. Even had a comment from a witness about the extent of the guys injuries.

Enforce motor vehicle laws before someone is killed. Ready, Set, Go. Ooops, too late.

Walking on the roadway is just too dangerous, at that time of day unless you are wearing reflective gear and are way off the road..oh well...your problem

thanks for clearing up the location. Too bad those who write the articles and headlines can't do a bit better and be more accurate.

My prayers go out to all involved. I Drove by the accident site right after it occured- and the vehicle was actually a very large red truck that struck the pedistrian. I know a lot of bikers are always along NC 54 and its just entirely too narrow. I hope the outcome is a good one!!

Actually, it did not happen on Airport Blvd. The incident occurred on NC 54 just west of the intersection with Airport Blvd. It happened before sunrise this morning, yet they were still out there taking pictures and cleaning it up just before noon.

Must have been near the corner of Airport Blvd. and 54 (the corner with the two gas stations) as traffic was backed up on 54 all the way back to just north of Morrisville-Carpenter Road.

hoping he or she recovers quickly! Busy area in the mornings, all day actually. Several folks that sit on the ramps there, wonder if it was one of them.
