Passenger in car shot on Durham street
A woman sitting in the back seat of a car was shot Monday morning as the car was northbound on Alston Avenue, police said.

DURHAM, N.C. — A woman sitting in the back seat of a car was shot Monday morning as the car was northbound on Alston Avenue, police said.
The shooting occurred at about 11 a.m. near the intersection of North Alston and Dowd Street, police said.
Someone shot out the car's back window, and the unidentified woman was hit, police said. She was taken to Duke University Hospital for treatment.
Police said they had no description of the gunman and asked that anyone with information about the shooting call Crime Stoppers at 919-683-1200.
